Each year the Acadia PTA provides scholarships to deserving Shenendehowa High School seniors who formally attended Acadia Middle School. This year the Acadia PTA is hoping to award two $500 scholarships. These scholarships are based on student academic achievement and demonstrated traits of outstanding character. The application is available here or from the High School Counseling office. Completed applications should be returned to the High School Counseling office no later than March 5, 2012.
Shen Inventors Program
Its time for the Shen Inventors Program! Shen Inventors is an extra-curricular enrichment program that is focused on the inventing process. During the project development process, the Shen Inventor brainstorms, designs an invention, conducts research to find new ideas or improvements, and prepares a poster displaying the invention. This is a district-wide program, with projects displayed and judged at the Clifton Park Center Mall.
There will be an informational meeting next Thursday 1/19/12, from 6:00-7:00 pm at the Acadia Library. The registration deadline is 2/2/12, and projects will be displayed on 2/11/12.

Acadia PTA Meeting

Acadia PTA Honorary Life Membership Nominations
Do you know someone who has shown superior dedication and distinguished service to children and youth in one or more of the following areas: home, school, community, place of worship? Nominate him/her for a PTA Honorary Life Membership Award. Nominees may be a staff member, parent, administrator or community member and do not need to be PTA members. You may nominate an individual (no couples or groups, please) by submitting a PTA Honorary Life Membership form to the Award Committee at Acadia by January 13, 2012. An individual may only win this award once, so please see the PTA list of Honorary Members for previous award winners. More information can be found on the form. Questions?
